When Mina Hamilton decides to join her parents in their undead state, she doesn't know they're being relocated to Louisiana. That means leaving her first-ever boyfriend before their relationship can move on to the next stage. Since he's a vampire too, Mina thought they had all the time in the world.

The council plans a fatal car accident for Mina's entire family. The idea is to chuck the old friends and neighbors permanently so they can make new ones who won't notice for a while anyway that they don't look a day older than they did twenty years ago. But despite the council's instructions, Mina has no intention of abandoning her best friend Serena without an explanation.

Could they move some place cool like New Orleans? Of course not - the council moves them to the small town of Cartville. While she's learning vampire skills, Mina's also dealing with culture shock.

Despite the weighty concerns of being a vampire, Mina spends just as much time obsessing over everyday teen angst. Being the new girl in town makes her popular, but causes her to become an enemy of the school's Queen Bee. She's getting attention from a hot vampire teen and a popular jock named Grady. Despite her busy social life she's missing Serena and boyfriend George. Neither have been in touch.

Mina tells her story from a breezy first person perspective with wit and humor. This sequel will make a great summer read for romantic fantasy lovers.
