The Fallen
while recovering from total knee replacement. It helped me to forget the pain for the time it took to devour Terry's third of his Derek Stillwater series, but also had me cowering under the covers and jumping at every little sound.

wenty world leaders meet for a G8 Summit at a posh resort in Colorado Springs. With the tight security in and around the place, everyone should feel safe and able to get on with their conference, with no worries but world peace, global hunger, natural disasters, etc..
D
erek, working undercover, has a job as a maintenance man to keep an eye on the arrangements for top security. It should be impossible for a terrorist group to infiltrate the security and take hostages in a bid for twenty of their group to be released from Guantanamo Bay. But, guess what? It happens. These terrorists feel nothing is impossible and make their demands after taking over the Summit.

hat's enough of the plot. Don't want to spoil any of the many surprises that crop up at irregular intervals. The suspense is thrilling, the plot tightly written, the characters realistic and the pace calls for a breather every so often.

or another of Derek Stillwater's stories, I might even be talked into having the left knee replaced.
