T
ate McKettrick is a divorced father of twin girls. He shares custody with his ex-wife and runs the
Silver Spur Ranch
. Tate had met Cheryl while he was at law school; they married when she became pregnant with his daughters. The only thing about his marriage that was not a mistake was the twins' birth. Tate left Libby, the love of his life, when he went to law school and now he regrets it.
L
ibby Remington hates to see Tate now. It breaks her heart to see her high school sweetheart and know that he betrayed her. When he walks into her coffee shop one day she doesn't realize how connected they will become again. She is busy taking care of her mother, who left when Libby and her sister were little. Her mom has come back to get to know them and Libby is not ready to forgive too easily.
T
ate has to get the girls a good present for their birthday since his two brothers have seemed to show him up with their gifts. He appears at Libby's asking for the two puppies that she had offered him earlier. Libby agrees to bring them over to his ranch. Tate begs her for a date and a second chance. Libby is still in love with him but does not want to get hurt again. Can they make this second chance work?
T
ate
is the first in the
McKettricks of Texas
series. Tate and Libby have a lot to overcome, between Tate's ex-wife and Libby's mom, but seem to muddle through. Linda Lael Miller has created another great series and I can't wait for more in the stories of Garrett and Austin.
