Her friends at Templeton House, a group home for kids who haven't been placed in foster care, are jealous of her posh placement and no longer want her to visit them. . The wig gives her the courage to run away from her foster home and head for Ireland where she thinks her mother has been for the nine years Holly has been a ward of the state.

anaging to keep herself safe and out of trouble, Solace travels across England. Then she stows away in a car that is waiting to board the ferry to Ireland. As she travels she has her memories of her mother to sustain her.

is this author's last novel. Siobhan Dowd died of cancer in 2007. Her books make a wonderful legacy to her readers.
