C
omputer wizard Seth Harper agreed to meet a friend in a bar and the next thing he knows he wakes up in a filthy motel bathroom with the corpse of a dead woman staring at him. Even worse, before he can gather his wits the police are on the scene and Harper is looking at a murder charge.

ith no memory of what transpired during the evening, the accused man seeks help from an old friend. Teaming up with Chicago cop Samantha Cooper, Jessie Beckett tries to fill in the missing pieces to discover what really happened on that evening. Quickly it becomes apparent that Harper has a number of dark secrets he is reluctant to share and there's a menacing presence hovering in the shadows that will place Jessie's life at risk as well as that of her client.
