I
n the aftermath of an 1890 fire which ravaged the waterfront of Port Chatham, Washington, Hattie Longren, a wealthy widow, was found murdered. Now, over a century later, the old Longren House, which survived the conflagration and intervening years, has been purchased by Jordan Marsh.

he former Los Angeles resident has moved to the Pacific Northwest to find some peace and quiet after being the prime suspect in her husband's unsolved murder case. Putting all the unpleasantness of the prying, police investigation behind her, the widow throws herself into the restoration of the charming Victorian she has purchased.
U
nfortunately, she has just walked into a
cold case
situation that dates back to before she was born, and also involves two garrulous ghosts that come with the house she just bought. Poor Jordan quickly realizes she is going to have to dig into the past if she hopes for any peace in the present and a calm, restful future in Port Chatham.

hose who enjoy supernatural sleuthing will find much to like in this new series.
