She selfishly takes Oliver as her familiar although she knows he loves her and that drinking his blood will tie him to her forever. She trusts Oliver and doesn't want her first time to be with someone she barely knows. But she's aware that her reckless act will hurt them both. Schuyler loves Jack Force but he is bonded to his twin sister Mimi. In Blue Blood Society a bond is sacred and breaking it can be dangerous. Even knowing that one day he will forget her completely, Schuyler can't say no when he asks her to meet him. If he loves her like he says he does, maybe there is a way they could be together. He assures her it's possible. Schuyler and Jack's love story continues in this third book about the Blue Bloods, the wealthy vampires who built New York City. As more of the Blue Bloods' history is introduced, De La Cruz takes them even further from the more ordinary vampires we read about.
