In today's faltering economy, people are wondering what they can do to earn extra money to either supplement an income or to add a second income for their family. Put More Cash in Your Pocket is a step-by-step tutorial on discovering your personal skills, hobbies, and strengths that can be translated into a business that will generate income.

Loral Langemeier uses case studies of specific people and walks through each step, providing tips, charts, and directions for the reader to do the same. Where the directions would be helpful on their own, the examples are what made this book come to life for me. You can see how this works for other people, which motivates the reader to apply it to their own life and situation.

And the examples are not out there or bizarre. These are skills and hobbies that many readers will possess themselves - or they will be able to quickly identify their own. Things like power washing, errand running, and tutoring are just a few examples that are discussed in depth in the book.

The author begins with mentally preparing yourself to come up with a plan of action. This is not a get rich quick scheme, all of these steps will take some work to get off the ground. She provides a fairly comprehensive list of small jobs that might be of potential for readers. She suggests making lists of readers' skills, activities, and hobbies in order to pinpoint strengths and areas of interest. Directed research into what to charge, how to market, get a license, web site design and follow-through with the business are all included.

If you are serious about applying yourself and seeking a way to make an extra $500-$1000 per month, then Put More Cash in Your Pocket is an invaluable resource.
