The second edition of this helpful and time-tested guide discusses assessing one's chances of being accepted, how to make smart choices, and the criteria colleges and universities use in making their selections. The authors also untangle the confusing web of how to qualify and apply for financial aid, plus how to write a strong personal statement. 'We have written this book to demystify the college admissions process by explaining how it works and to level the playing field for those without access to extensive assistance from knowledgeable high school counselors,' explain the authors. 'It will also help those who have access to good counseling but who would still like some extra support.'
