F
ans of true crime absolutely must pick up Colin and Damon Wilson's
Evil: Sping-Tingling True Stories of Murder and Mayhem
. Broken down into short sections covering details of each case, this intriguing but slightly disturbing book is highly readable.
T
he Wilsons cover the gamut of murders from historical political murder plots to modern day serial killers to unsolved cases. Some of the cases covered are well-known, such as those of
The Unabomber
and
The Manson Family
, while others are more obscure, such as
The Brooklyn Vampire
(highly sick and disturbing) and
The Colorado Cannibal
(the one that really sent shivers down my spine).
T
hough a softcover,
Evil
is the size of a coffee table book and would make a good one as it is easy to pick up and read one or two sections quickly while looking at the pictures. However, I do not recommend leaving it lying around when children (or those easily offended) are present because these stories are truly horrifying.
