T
his is a lovely story set in Ireland. Kate, an American from Seattle whose boyfriend left her for a model, is traveling through the land of her heritage, hoping to make a new start. She ends up in Glenmara, a dying town, too far from regular tourist destinations and with not enough diversions of its own to offer.
K
ate's design expertise soon has her masterminding a very modern change in the local lace makers' circle. Along the way, the members of that circle discover some truths they have not had the courage to face before. But not everyone approves of Kate's idea: a jealous husband, an old-fashioned priest, and a fellow lace maker all have severe doubts.
O
n the way to a satisfying ending Kate discovers that she can let go of her grief, she will be able to make a go of her career, and there is hope and trust as well as love for her in this green land of enchantment.
