. S. Lewis stated, '
We all agree that forgiveness is a beautiful idea until we have to practice it.
' This is the challenge placed before Abby Treasure.
A
bby has been married to David for twelve years and they have a nine-year-old son, Braden. When David receives a call from Susan, a woman from his past, Abby's ability to forgive will be put to the test. Abby learns that, early in their marriage, David had an affair. Unbeknownst to David, that affair with Susan produced a daughter, Samantha. Susan contacts David in the hopes that he will be a match, as Samantha has leukemia and needs a bone marrow transplant. David decides to be tested and wants Braden tested too, against Abby's wishes.
N
ot only does this revelation affect David and his relationship with Abby, but the church (where David serves in leadership roles) notices as well and expresses concern to Pastor Nelson Hull - David's good friend.
D
espite the fact that Abby feels betrayed, angry and hurt, those emotions are pushed aside when Susan calls to inform David that Samantha has run away from camp. Susan believes Samantha will try to find David. A great amount of faith will be required from everyone - for Samantha's safety and health, as well as David and Abby's marriage.
B
edford clearly portrays the healing powers of God.
