aney Parker is looking forward to a summer of shopping, hanging out at the roof top pool, eating at sidewalk cafes, and partying with her friends. Then her mother springs summer camp on her. She's never been. Never wanted to go. And can't believe her mother would send a sixteen-year-old to camp for the first time in her life.

here's no way out, so Laney finds herself at Camp Timber Trail in the woods of Pennsylvania. She is forced to give up her cell phone, get out of bed before noon, and Coke withdrawal causes caffeine deprivation and the major headache that goes with it. The camp is full of losers who don't want to know her any more than she wants to know them. How did this group of losers become the popular set at camp? Turns out it all has to do with being good at sports, something Laney knows nothing about and doesn't really care to learn.

aney does know someone at camp though. Back home, Ryan was totally uncool, but at camp he is the most popular guy there. Will he forgive her popularity in the real world and can she forget how uncool he is there?
