New Yorker Robin Anders is filthy rich and has all the characteristics of someone who has never worked a day in his life. After allowing six friends to visit for a weekend, the host regrets the invite.

Several accidents happen that should have warned Robin something most foul is about to unfold. He gets through the visit with the help of pills of every color of the rainbow. After a disastrous couple of days, the group returns to Manhattan where Robin promptly has a migraine lasting several days. Upon waking from his pill-induced stupor, Robin learns that one of the friends is dead.

Miffed at not being named executor of the friend's estate, Robin decides to investigate. Breaking and entering, looking into bank boxes, Robin learns more about his friends than he ever suspected or even wanted to know.

The reader is challenged to solve the murder and determine if the friends are male or female, gay or straight. As for me, I guessed wrong every time. Androgynous Murder House Party is third is a series entitled Tales from the Back Page.
