Black Dogs by Jason Buhrmester (former editor of Playboy and current editor of Inked) is almost a farce. So many things go wrong but the baddies still come out on top.

Nineteen-year-old Patrick Sullivan is a scam artist. After a scam gone bad, a very good friend (and fellow criminal) landed in jail. Now, to make up for that prison time, Patrick has come up with the perfect scheme – rob Led Zeppelin. One night's proceeds from Zeppelin's reunion tour would set up the four men involved for some time, with $50,000 each. Sounds like a plan.

How they go about this takes the reader through the music scene with references to artists of whom I had never heard. (My music is from the Golden Oldies). That did not diminish my enjoyment of Black Dogs. It is a fun, imaginative book with enough action to keep readers on their toes. There's peril, suspense, pure terror, great although flawed reasoning, disloyalty, and some really good belly laughs. You won't go wrong with Black Dogs.
