avid returns to Bear Lake Valley to visit with the Roberts family to clear his head after his mother dies. He loved his mother and misses her terribly and can't seem to keep his mind on the new business that he started. The Roberts family has always been kind to him. As soon as he shows up they know something is wrong but they do not want to press him to find out what it is.

arah Brown is new to Bear Lake Valley and the community loves her. She is deaf but dances very gracefully and keeps the Saturday night dances entertaining. She has started a dance class in Bear Lake valley that has become successful. The first night she meets David, she knows there is something special there and wants to get to know him more.

arah and David both enjoy the dances and talking to one another but David is holding back because he does not want to fall in love at this point in his life. He is confused about his feelings of guilt after his mother's death and he wants his business to take off before he gets married. He can't help how he feels about Sarah though; she is a beautiful and gentle woman. When an unpleasant man tries to force Sarah to dance with him, David steps in to defend her honor. A frightened Sarah is very grateful for his help.

legend. When people that he is working with at the Roberts ranch harass him about it, he decides to get even with them. He also falls in love with Sarah and can't seem to keep his feelings straight; will he get his thoughts together before it is too late?
