Star Trek: The Next Generation: The Manga
features four short stories, each written by a different writer and illustrated by a different artist.
C
hangeling
, written by David Gerrold with art by E.J. Su, is a light and funny tale in which Ensign Crusher learns a valuable lesson.
Sensation
, written by Diane Duane with art by Chrissy Delk - the story of a lost civilization trying to be heard - is the wordiest of the four pieces, making it feel more like a novella than a manga short.
T
he Picardian Knot
, written by Christine Boylan with art by Don Hudson, contains a good mixture of art and plot as the crew tries to help Captain Picard regain his emotions.
Loyalty
, written by F.J. DeSanto with art by Bettina Kurkoski, telling the tale of a test of Commander Will Riker, works very well as a short manga with the most consistent artwork and understandable plot for non-
Star Trek
fans.
S
tar Trek: The Next Generation: The Manga
will delight fans of the TV show, and offers some interesting stories for science fiction fans in general.
