Tyler Creed is the youngest of three hell-raising brothers whose five-year estrangement has taken them in different directions. Since their legendary fight over their father's coffin, first and second sons Logan and Dylan have mended their fences and settled down with their new wives. Tyler, however, has not found it as easy to forgive and forget even though he too has gotten tired of life on the rodeo circuit. He decides to head home to Stillwater Springs to recharge and carve out some alone time. However, he's soon fielding various distractions: his old high school sweetheart is also in town, taking care of her ailing father. And to make matters even more interesting, he discovers he may have a fourteen-year-old son.

Lily Kenyon doesn't expect to ever return to Stillwater Springs, until a heart attack fells her estranged father. She and her daughter Tess are determined to get him back on his feet and making the rounds in his vet practice. But that becomes increasingly difficult once she discovers Tyler Creed's back in town. She's loved him for as long as she can remember even though he was the first man to break her heart. Now, years later, she finds him just as irresistible, despite knowing that getting involved with the stubborn and rambling cowboy would very likely shatter her heart all over again.

Miller wraps up her Montana Creeds trilogy in a somewhat disappointing story where the author uses too many weak coincidences to bring her leads together. She also recycles plot points from the previous two instalments. And while Lily's character and back-story are nicely developed, Tyler's is not: his need for Lily is shown as more sexual than emotional. Even so, Miller keeps the plot line moving right along, ties up most of the loose ends and brings her latest trilogy to its inevitable conclusion.
