ingers and songwriters, huddled in a falling-down castle in the Scotland. The creation of new songs, all for a wonderful cause. The idea is too romantic and idealistic to be true - but it is exactly what happened in January 2008, as award-winning singer/songwriters such as Steven Curtis Chapman, Michael W. Smith, Chris Tomlin, and Darlene Zschech came together to try to raise money for charities around the world.

his book,
The Art of Compassion
, is a compilation of essays from each participating artist, quite diverse in nature: journal entries, personal stories, striking pleas to the reader, an interview between an artist and his son. While I have not heard the
CompassionArt
CD, I am sure this book is a wonderful accompaniment that tells its story. I found myself challenged to go out and do something for the people of the world. Each artist's heart is definitely passionate about the project.
W
hile the title has the marks of a book that went from conception to print in under a year (repeated stories, typos, etc.), I will still highly recommend it. Something needs to stir the world's wealthy people into action, and this book will certainly push someone in the right direction.
