ebecca Covington loses the gossip column that she held for fifteen years at the Chicago Mail after she gets a story from one of her sources wrong. Now that a Senator is threatening legal action, she is assigned to a food column of all things. She can't cook but decides to make the best of it. Everyone expected her to fight the decision but she puts her own spin on every recipe that comes out, with the help of her friends Kate and Harry.

avid Sumner is satisfied with the way that he handled the job change at the paper. He is the new CEO and wants fresh blood. He knows that all of Chicago loves Rebecca, but he feels that a new and younger person will handle the gossip column just fine. The only problem is that when he meets Rebecca, he not only likes her but starts falling in love with her. David was deeply in love with his wife and when she died, he vowed never to love like that again.

ebecca did not expect to like David as much as she does; she feels that if she can get him in her corner maybe she can get her old job back. David is fascinated by the woman who can review recipes and still manage to insert witty gossip into them. Shannon, the new gossip columnist, is jealous of Rebecca and does everything in her power sabotage her position at the paper.

is a refreshing romance, with both hero and heroine over forty. Rebecca is smart and witty, while David is sensitive and generous. He wants the paper to succeed and his employees to be happy, but most of all he wants Rebecca. Sherrill Bodine has created a charming story that will keep you reading long into the night.
