Enzo MacLeod is back! I, for one, am very glad. This third in his mystery series, Blacklight Blue, is another very good read. Don't miss it.

The mystery is intriguing. And suspenseful. Enzo had been a forensic scientist in Edinburgh before moving to France. Now someone is trying to stop Enzo and anyone connected to him - from investigating a cold case. His daughter is almost blown up. Their credit is canceled and Enzo is arrested for murder. He is also told he has a virulent form of leukemia and has but three months to live.

Anna and he meet in a hotel bar. You can guess the results of that chance encounter. Enzo and his two daughters and their boyfriends one of whom has had his fitness center torched end up in the suburbs of Paris where Anna is housesitting.

The plot proves to be intricate, exploiting modern forensic science techniques that were unavailable years ago. I can't synopsize this story without giving away the machinations involved in solving an old murder. Tracking down the killer is absorbing and makes the book hard to put down.

Author Peter May did not skimp on his luscious descriptions of France, Spain and London. Makes me want to put my traveling shoes back on. He also gives human emotions to his characters which go a long way to making them real. I repeat, don't miss this one.
