uthor Ken Kuhlken continues his very popular, prize-winning Tom Hickey family series with a fifth episode,
The Vagabond Virgins
, set mostly in Mexico.

om Hickey's son Alvaro is a private eye studying to be a lawyer. Alvaro is approached by Lourdes Garcia to find her sister Lupe - apparently masquerading as the Holy Virgin and making appearances in-out-of-the-way spots in Mexico - whom she has not seen for ten years. With a

for a father, Lourdes is not dismayed so much by her sister's absence as by the fact that their father was murdered and she is sure Lupe is a suspect in the murder.

he case involves the whole Hickey family. The investigation takes Alvaro and Lourdes to Mexico. The backdrop of rural Mexico is enough to hold the reader's attention. The bonus is a well-plotted novel with a plethora of action to carry the story forward. I love the Hickey family solidarity. They back each other up and respect individual decisions, right or wrong. This is a very good series and
The Vagabond Virgins
makes a delightful addition to it.
