The book is filled with advice for others in similar situations, including seeking God's heart, the importance of finding a Christian counselor, and journaling. She reminds the reader about the power of forgiveness and that healing is a process.

Meg asks him various questions, such as when his addiction began and his triggers, the importance of counseling, and whether or not Meg could have prevented it.
