BANg bAnG is not a book for everyone. But it sure will fill the bill for those who like hard crime stories - and have a strong stomach. This offering from a brand new novelist is shot through (no pun intended) with blood curdling action, fast and descriptive dialogue, and a storyline that to me is fresh and new.

Izzy, a stickup kid (a little old at thirty-five to use the word kid in thinking of himself) in the New York underworld, has what he thinks is a great thing going – robbing big time drug lords, knowing they can't complain to the police. He not only increases his coffers but leaves no witnesses. But when things start to go south, and he realizes that his psychotic and druggie partner is dangerous, Izzy finds himself on a self-destructive ride through New York, shooting as he goes.

The characters in this new exciting tour through the dark streets of New York are frighteningly depicted as ruthless and self-absorbed, killing when they feel it is necessary regardless of who they are rubbing out. Those dark streets - as described by author Theo Gangi - would keep me in my hotel room at night. And the love interest in BANg bAnG is a little unusual in that a gun plays a big role.
