Felicity Langley, who's always yearned to marry a duke, is close to her dream. She has been writing to the Duke of Hollindrake for four years and he has agreed to marry her. Felicity decides that since he has not taken the initiative to meet with her, she will introduce herself.

Captain Thatcher arrives on Felicity's doorstep, planning to inform her that it was his grandfather who exchanged letters with her, and that he - his grandfather's heir - does not want to marry her. When Felicity opens the door, she mistakes Thatcher for her new footman. He does not correct the mistake and the charade begins. Thatcher ends up being charmed by Felicity and falls in love. But he can't marry her because he will only marry for love and knows that she wants any man with a Duke's title.

Felicity is torn between wanting to marry a duke and falling in love with the footman she just hired. She wants a stable life for herself, her sister and her cousin. She knows that marrying a duke will assure this and love doesn't really matter. Thatcher works to make her fall in love with him, but it is hard for Felicity to give up her dream of marrying a Duke.

Elizabeth Doyle spins an intriguing story with Love Letters from a Duke. Thatcher already feels like he has been duped by his grandfather. When he meets Felicity and she mistakes him for the footman, he can't seem to tell her the truth. Felicity wrestles with her feelings for Thatcher and her dreams of marrying a duke. Love Letters from a Duke is another delightful story from Elizabeth Doyle.
