Louisa Shelby is living with her sister Victoria when a summons arrives from the Dowager Vicountess Wade, for Louisa to become her companion. Louisa and her sister's lives changed drastically after their father committed suicide. Gone were the days of balls and luxury, and old friends decided they were not as worthy when their reduced financial status was revealed.

Lord Simon Wade lived high in Society and was one of the most sought after men before a fall from a horse caused his blindness. He is now living with his grandmother, and staying out of the spotlight. His sister Georgie also lives there, after an embarrassing coming out season. Georgie helps Simon with his business dealings, acting as his eyes. Simon is unhappy that Louisa has been brought into their home because he has heard rumors about her. When his grandmother and Georgie decide that Louisa is the perfect person to help improve Georgie's social skills, Simon want to make sure his sister's reputation is not ruined. But the more he gets to know Louisa, the more he realizes that the rumors can't be true. And it seems that Simon's grandmother has plans for Louisa aside from being her companion.

Simon and Louisa are both hiding from society for different reasons. Slowly they learn that they are good for each other, but Simon believes his blindness prevents him from marrying. Louisa has other ideas. She not only helps Georgie come out in Society but also makes Simon comfortable appearing at balls and parties again. The characters here are developed so nicely that you fall in love with them right away. Simon's grandmother is a feisty but caring woman. Georgie is sweet, wanting to be Simon's protector when she should be coming out in society. Simon, Louisa, Simon's grandmother and Georgie all help each other deal with the problems of the past.

Though The Viscount In Her Bedroom is the third in The Sisters of Willow Pond series, it can stand alone - I have not read the two previous stories and was not lost in this one. Gayle Callen develops her characters with tenderness, and I am looking forward to locating the earlier two books in the series.
