Annie Milliken-Goodman has an identical twin sister. Their lives have been intertwined since birth, and even more so after their parents died within two years of each other. Annie, a physical therapist, has a husband and a baby daughter. Her twin Julie is barren and has her own business in which she has been very successful. Good lives, right? Maybe not.

Overnight, Annie's world is turned upside down. With proof he has been cheating on her, Annie leaves her husband. Her identity is stolen, she is arrested for fraud - and later on for murder. How could this happen? What on earth could she have done to warrant this kind of retribution?

Things start off badly in this exciting and suspenseful novel - and go downhill from there to the very bottom – a jail cell wearing jail garb. It is easy to identify with Annie. Among other things, she is faced with the identity theft which has been happening more and more often in real life. She realizes that she must do the right things to get herself out of the mess she is in - even though she was not a participant in creating that mess.

Her fight arouses the woman in us all – mutely screaming to ourselves, 'Go for it, girl. You're your own best advocate.' The action never seems to stop. Once Annie thinks she has one problem in hand, something else happens that sends events spiraling out of control. The blockbuster ending took me by complete surprise. Here She Lies is good beach reading.
