lanning a party for a hundred of your closest celebrity friends? Interested in transforming a blah dinner party into something that will make the society column? Want to throw a lavish party for Fido, complete with homemade doggy treats served on a Tiffany tray? Then this is the book for you!
P
rofessional Hollywood party-planners Shriftman and Harrison have gathered all of their ideas into one giant, colorful coffee table book. There are photos of multiple A-List celebrities who have attended their parties - such as at Paris Hilton's perfume launch party and a sugar party to honor Serena Williams' sweet tooth. These experts include everything from themed parties (How about a
Denim and Diamonds
party in a rented stable or barn?) to recipe ideas (Jackie Collins'
Hollyrich Cheesecake
) to gift ideas for your host (perhaps a first edition book, or a complete set of Nancy Drew novels?)

his book is way over-the-top, and is geared toward those who are not budget conscious. While it is chock full of glamorous ideas - and I am sure there are many who will rely on it for their next party - one does not get the sense that the average person will be utilizing this book for practical purposes. It's more like a fun book to open, gawk at, perhaps envy, and then put down in time to dig into your bag of store-brand tortilla chips, crack open a jar of salsa, and watch the football game, feet up on the coffee table, while waiting for your C-List friends to show up.
