The authors offer us their dictionary of mixed-up words as 'A guide to communicating effectively in the modern world, in which new-fangled ideas and phenomena leave us at a loss for words' - but not for long!

This little book is filled with made-up words and their definitions, categorized under headings from Breaking Up and Business to Women and Work. Shawn McManus's comic illustrations add both meaning and humor. While I found some of the constructs rather awkward - like Beau De-Tox for breaking up with a poisonous partner - many fit the bill and are amusing as well. The best are almost self-explanatory, like Bureaucrap, Complihint, Foodgasm, Philosofishy, Braggony and Complainiac.

Mixtionary, kind of a Devil's Dictionary for IM'ers, would make a cute gift or stocking stuffer for any word lover on your holiday list.
