Lizzy Walters has always thought of the Keeper House as the place for family to meet. All her cousins, aunts and uncles have congregated there for gatherings at different times throughout the years.

When they meet up for Christmas, the latest news is that Lizzy's cousin Tom is gay. No biggie, everyone thought that might be the case. Then Uncle Mike drops in with a new bride whom no one seems to like. Lizzy's Aunt Chin is proposed to while she is brushing her teeth, and freaks out. As Christmas comes to a close, the preparations begin for Chin's wedding.

The wedding date nears and plans are in place to hold it at the Keeper House. The only problem is that - according to Lizzy's parents - the house needs to be sold. This news blows Lizzy's mind and she gets involved in plans to save their beloved house. While these progress, family secrets are revealed, causing a rift with some of the relatives.

Harriet Evans has a winner with her debut novel, Going Home, a fabulous story about a family that is close but also has rivalries - to which almost anyone can relate. Lizzy's character was created with humor and sensitivity, while the antics of the off the wall family will keep readers on their toes.
