Jesse Phillips's summer has been a whirlwind. It began with landing a leading role in a hot new movie starring teen heartthrob Shane Rockett. While on the set of Reckless Summer they shared kisses and secrets, until she caught him kissing someone else. Now that a glitch on the soundtrack has forced her to Hollywood, Shane rockets into her life once again.

Jesse thinks she'll only be in town for a few days, but luck strikes again when she lands a job as a teen columnist for Juicy, a brand new entertainment magazine. She's in Hollywood for the summer, along with her photographer friend Tracy. But can she withstand the powers of Shane Rockett - and does she want to even try?

Mary Kennedy keeps the pages packed with twists and turns as Tales of a Hollywood Gossip Queen unfolds. It's a dream summer, despite a wicked backstabbing summer intern and the shark-like atmosphere of tabloid journalism that exacerbates Jesse's insecurities over her relationship with Shane. Can she trust him after the tabloids report him kissing someone else when he's told her it was a business meeting? In the end, after some dress destroying, wily interviewing, and serious decision making, Jesse finds herself sticking up for herself and discovering what is truly important.

While some of the characters in Tales of a Hollywood Gossip Queen ride off into the sunset together, it's not the mix of characters that one would expect - to Mary Kennedy's credit. She offers up a fun page-turner filled with humor, fashion faux pas, and honesty in a realm where everything sometimes seems fake.
