eff Povey's
Serial Killers Club
by has to be the most unusual book I’ve read for a while. Shocking, funny, extremely imaginative, it's written by a man who has a great - though maybe warped - sense of humor. This is Povey's first novel although he has previously written for television and theater.
A
wannabe serial killer joins a
serial killers club
for the companionship he feels he will find there. To protect their anonymity, all the members take movie stars' names. Our protagonist fancies the name of Douglas Fairbanks, Jr.. They regale each other at the meetings with tales of their killings. The waitress at the restaurant where they meet is a deaf mute! Which handles the problem of anyone overhearing stories of their death dealing exploits.
A
wrench is thrown in the works when the serial killers are slowly picked off one by one – but by whom? Which serial killer is killing the other serial killers? And Dougie has taken a fancy to Betty Grable whose method of killing men is as gruesome as anything recounted. Can two serial killers find happiness together? Tune in to discover who is next on the
serial killer
killer's to do list.
