U
se this calendar - '
A year-long collection of magnetic poems, creative mind-opening exercises and thought-provoking quotes specially chosen to bring out the writer within
' - to encourage the muse, or simply to leave cryptic messages for those who share your home or workplace. It comes with over 200 magnetic
word
tiles and an attached magnetic board to lay them out on.
E
ach month of the calendar offers an inspiring paragraph on unleashing the creativity, and suggesting different poem building exercises. There's a sample
magnetic poem
(though most use words from larger magnetic word kits rather than the calendar set), and also a quote for each month - I love the December quote of a Japanese proverb, '
One kind word can warm three winter months.
' The collection of words includes verbs like '
shiver
' and '
dream
', nouns like '
petal
' and '
snow
', and connectors like '
s
', '
ly
', and '
by
'.
I
love the idea of this calendar (which also makes an unusual gift choice), but expect to soon feel the need for additional word kits to fill in the blanks in unwritten verses. As it is, it's more oriented to playful fun than poetry.
