Trial lawyers Steve Solomon and Victoria Lord take on both the system and each other in Solomon vs. Lord. Their client is accused of murdering her wealthy and much older husband during erotic sex play. Victoria also represents Steve in the State of Florida's claim that he is unfit to raise a dog, let alone his nephew, who has special needs.

What ensues is an engrossing tale of lawyerly skills, courtroom drama, a twelve-year-old savant who reads both Greek and Latin, Steve's disbarred father, his druggie sister and a sexual romp through five hundred pages of pure fun. While some might object to the sexual innuendoes, I found the book very funny, a pure delight that I hated to put down. The courtroom scenes point out a lot that might be wrong with the system – but, hey, it's the only one we've got. The hilarious one-liners let us know both Victoria's and Steve's thoughts. Some of which are better left unread. Bobby, the savant, is sexually precocious and delivers startling, off-the-wall comments. His twenty-six names for the male organ - all starting with successive letters of the alphabet - are enlightening.

Victoria is engaged to Bruce Bigby, an avocado grower who is destined for small things in life. Her battle to do the right thing and marry him produces more hilarity. Solomon vs. Lord is a remarkable read.
