' Shannon is an ex-FBI agent who has become the head of security for a cruise line. His life is somewhat in the dumps, based on owing too much money on his credit cards and a love of bourbon. So when his stepbrother turns up with a plan to make millions, how could he say no?
T
he idea, unfortunately, is to hijack a cruise ship. Why not? Fontana, the stepbrother, comes up with a foolproof plan and they move ahead with a few other people of questionable reputation to round out their gang - including a nurse for Fontana, as he is not a well man. Just as things start to work out, there is a hitch – or two. Like dead bodies, and the Coast Guard turning up at an importune time.
Fever
moves along at a fever pitch. And just when the reader figures that the story can't go any further, it does. Twists and turns in every direction bring the novel to a climax that rocks and then goes on for more.

att Shannon is a lawman gone bad, but I don't think he sees himself as such. He's a man hit by circumstances. He's loyal and that can get him in trouble, but he does seem to have an ability to perceive that the trouble he gets into isn't all his fault. I kind of like Matt. I also like
