An Irish setting always draws me to books, as well as words that remind me of my many trips to the auld sod. In this series by Dicey Deere, American Torrey Tunet makes her home in Ireland's County Wicklow, when she is not traveling the world employing her translating skills.

In this 3rd in the series, the translator once again becomes involved in murder. Coming back to her cottage from a working trip on the Continent, Torrey falls into the uproar following the discovery of a man gunned to death. There are, of course, the likely suspects – the beautiful housekeeper and the housekeeper's lover. Could there be other people with unseen motives?

Torrey can't seem to stay out of what should not be her business. Her almost live-in boyfriend Jasper O'Hare worries for her safety as she becomes more and more embroiled. The Irish Village Murder is a charming cozy with lots of breath-holding action, that moves along at a good clip. A great beach read.
