The story begins with Jack telling Lyssa he wants space, and leaving her. Secretly, he has been cheating on her with a tough as nails associate from work who is Lyssa's polar opposite. Every guy wants to be with this no nonsense girl, Neve. She is sure of herself and very well spoken, everything that Jake thinks he wants. When they move in together, Jake is on cloud nine, but what he doesn't realize is that Neve has plans of her own. For weeks after Jake's departure, Lyssa is a basket case. Every little thing makes her cry and nobody - neither coworkers nor family nor friends - can pull her out of it. Then, suddenly, she decides that she is going to do something adventurous and exciting to get her mind off her troubles.
