Through its over six hundred pages, Elizabeth George's latest page turner, With No One As Witness (you may give a cheer here that there is one you haven't yet read) is action-packed, tightly written and plotted to perfection.

New Scotland Yard Acting Superintendent Thomas Lynley and Constable Barbara Havers are called upon to solve the murders of young boys – a crime that alarms London, with authorities demanding a speedy resolution. The search for the serial killer leads Lynley and Havers into territory they would rather have avoided – the world of the pedophile. Their investigation revolves around Colossus, an organization that ostensibly turns boys away from a life of crime, and also a group calling themselves MABIL – Men and Boys in Love! The reader also gets a peek into the private lives of Lynley and Havers when they're not performing their public duties. And gets to feel outrage at Lynley's opportunistic boss Hilliers. When the press arrive on the scene, the impulse to drive them away is strong.

In good conscience, I can't reveal the last chapters. Suffice it to say that you will cry, hold your breath, cheer and wonder about what the future holds for Lynley and Havers. With No One As Witness is a very satisfying, must-read novel.
