I
came across a copy of an older book by Philip Margolin,
Gone, But Not Forgotten
- not a book for the squeamish. Its polish has not dimmed in the twelve years since its publication.
W
omen in Portland, Oregon are vanishing from their homes. Only a black rose and an ambiguous note – '
Gone, But Not Forgotten
' - mark their disappearances. Ten years before, a series of similar happenings terrified another town across the country. Attorney Betsy Tannenbaum is caught up in these horrible events - more personally than her law practice would lead her to expect could happen.
M
argolin is an accomplished storyteller. His books are true page-turners, with action oozing from every page and characters as scary as any childhood monster.
Gone, But Not Forgotten
is no exception. Once started, it's a hard book to put down. Be warned -you may have to sleep with the light on after reading it.
