I
love the whimsical look of the illustrations in
Our Wedding Scrapbook
. Darcy Miller tells us that she designed the book as a visual keepsake of more than just the wedding itself, '
also of everything from your first date to your honeymoon
'. There's even a place to fill in anniversary gifts and celebrations. She encourages bride and groom to personalize it, and includes tips on what to try to capture (from fabric swathes to toasts) on the special day.
S
ome of the pages cover the obvious, like '
The Proposal
', '
Wedding Guests and Gifts
', and '
Our First Dance
'. I liked the idea of entries for '
guests who traveled the farthest
', and for youngest and oldest guests who attended. Including newspaper headlines for the wedding day gives a context that's interesting to look back on. And I thought it clever to suggest sending yourself a postcard from the honeymoon to include in the scrapbook.
I
wish I'd had one of these before my own wedding day and plan to give a copy to good friends getting married in 2005.
Our Wedding Scrapbook
makes a thoughtful gift for anyone planning to march down the aisle soon.
