Fortunately I have corrected my oversight. Truman's sleuthing couple, Mac and Annabelle Smith, are at it again. When a congressional intern is murdered at the back door of Ford's Theatre, Mac and Annabelle realize there is more to the murder than the police originally suspect. One of the police detectives feels the same way and pursues the murderer on his own time. Though complex, this author's mysteries always have clues dripping from the pages. Follow them and the reader can usually unmask the culprit before the last pages. I did so this time and even though I was sure of my conclusion, Truman still had me second guessing. The story is well written with likeable characters – even the aging Shakespearean British actor. Annabelle and Mac seem to enjoy each other's company without the usual household strife that accompanies every marriage. A little on the unreal side there. I'd love to see Annabelle raise her voice to Mac or vice versa once in a while. All in all though, Murder At Ford's Theatre is a good read.
