n outrageously expensive haircut, a new exercise and diet program, and going out for rugby, all raise his confidence level. Getting invited to the most happening party of the year brings him one step closer to popularity. His parents think he needs to be more independent, but he thinks he needs to land a new girl. What happens when he becomes the hottest commodity, and not one, not two, but three girls begin fighting over him?
G
otta Get Some Bish Bash Bosh
is a fun new teen tale by a mother and son writing team from England. The short novel is filled with humor and realistic situations. The fact that the main character isn't named is a little annoying, but since it's written in the first person we really don't need to know (it just makes writing about the book more difficult). The glossary of British terms in the back of the book is handy, because many of the words used may be unfamiliar to readers on this side of the ocean.
T
he guy's point of view brings a different twist to the young adult genre. It's a kick for both guys and girls to get another perspective on situations - everything from coming up with a great Halloween costume, to going to a hair salon to get a haircut. Teens will be able to identify with the main character's fears and discoveries as he gradually develops confidence. This book is a
must-read
for anyone who has ever tried to fit in and get noticed.
