A
ny Canadian can tell you that the ever changing conditions in this country create something of a challenge for growing houseplants. Heat, cold, high humidity, low humidity, too much light, not enough light -- it's a wonder indoor plants survive at all.
L
aura Peters has put together a beautifully photographed, comprehensive guide that makes growing indoor plants easy, even for those of us who don't have much of a green thumb. She's gathered information on 386 different plants. Though some are tried-and-true and low maintenance, there are also more exotic and challenging varieties. Plant expert Peters gives practical, simple advice and solutions to help us decorate with plants, buy the right plant, choose proper lighting and watering, display plants for optimum effect, and care for plants while on vacation. She also provides temperature and humidity tips, and talks about pests and diseases to watch for. The book is set up alphabetically (which makes for quick and easy reference) and has hundreds of colour photos.
