ust got home from visiting friends in Florida. They handed me a book to read – so what could I do? I read it. And I'm very glad I did. It's an older one – first published in 1992. It's a trifle outdated – no computers, no cell phones - but it's not short on fun.
oey Goldman – part Jewish, part Sicilian – is a very minor member of a Mafia family in Queens, New York. Deciding he'd make more of his life in Florida, he had to convince his girlfriend Sandra to go with him, which took some doing. But away they go in his old Cadillac convertible. That's when things start going bad. Joey just can't get his life together. Then the old life he left behind in Queens catches up with him.
Chihuahua who needs sunglasses, a landlord who spends his days nude in the compound's swimming pool, an ex-mob member who died and wears tailored shirts, two half-brothers who can't see eye-to-eye. Mix this all up and throw in a busty blonde, a prim bank teller, numerous heavies from New York and a salvar.
