ooking for a great summer read? Check out Georgia Byng's
Molly Moon Stops the World
. Byng was just getting her feet wet with her first in the series,
Molly Moon's Incredible Book of Hypnotism
, and her writing shines even stronger in this sequel.
A
child star has been kidnapped, and Molly's librarian friend Lucy believes that American advertising mogul Primo Cell is behind it. Soon Molly, Rocky, Petula, and the rest of the '
Happiness House
' gang are off to Los Angeles, just in time for the Oscars. After only a few days in the glamorous city, Molly realizes just how daunting her task of taking down Cell is - almost everyone in Hollywood is under his hypnotic powers. However, Molly has a new secret weapon – she has the power to stop time!
U
nlike the first episode, this one gets right into the action with a tighter story line and better set-up twists and cliffhangers. Readers are immediately drawn into Molly's adventure, and once in the book's power, there is no escaping for things like sleep and homework. Whimsical product labels and clever celebrity names will make you chuckle. But Byng is also not afraid to make you think, bringing up important topics like advertising's effect on society, the definition of religion, and the question of being yourself or being what others want you to be.

eorgia Byng's
Molly Moon Stops the World
will put both new and returning readers deep under Molly's spell. Make sure to tuck this book into your beach bag this summer, especially if you're lucky enough (like Molly and the gang) to be soaking up the warm California rays.
