A
ndrea Kendricks is a debutante dropout, much to the distress of her impeccably dressed and rigidly coifed mother. Andy's preferred mode of dress involves jeans and a tee, and the design and maintenance of websites is not quite the occupation her society mother had in mind for her.
W
hen Andy's good friend Molly O'Brien is accused of murdering her lecherous boss, Molly turns to Andy for help. Assistance arrives in the form of a hottie lawyer, and the action is off and running. '
Mothers Against Porn
' activists race through the story, as do the waitresses at '
Jugs
' restaurant. A televangelist with a murky past also makes an appearance - the characters are as diverse as they are intriguing. The action is well-paced, and I enjoyed the author's keen wit. Andy's upbringing in a wealthy household is far different from that of her friend Molly as a foster child - an unlikely pair to come together. Their long lost and recently regained friendship is touching. The love and staunch loyalty Andy shows to Molly is poignant, although at times detrimental to Andy's well-being.

've not been to Dallas, but I feel I know some of the seedier sides of that oil town now that I've read and enjoyed
