The feline Warriors series has taken off in the last couple of episodes. In Rising Storm, Fireheart struggles with the responsibilities of his new role as deputy, and worries about the despair that ThunderClan's leader Bluestar has fallen into over Tigerclaw's treachery. He badly misses his best friend Graystripe who has accompanied his kits to their maternal RiverClan, and green-eyed Sandstorm is beginning to make his 'fur tingle'. He worries about his disobedient nephew Cloudpaw, and fears the promised vengeance of ambitious, exiled Tigerclaw.

As if that weren't enough, Bluestar is turned back when she tries to get to Highstones to consult with StarClan, Cloudpaw disappears, Tigerclaw attacks Fireheart, and the cats must cope with both disease and natural disaster - a dreaded forest fire. Luckily, old friends are still loyal - Ravenpaw brings important information and, even in another Clan, Graystripe finds ways to help. Through it all, Fireheart grows in his skills as a leader, strongly supported by clanmates like Whitestorm, though hindered by Tigerclaw's old cohorts.

The episode ends with an angry, embittered Bluestar railing against StarClan and delegating attendance at the Gathering to Fireheart ... when he goes there he gets a very nasty surprise in what is altogether a cliffhanger of an ending. It leaves ThunderClan in a vulnerable position and I can't wait to see what comes next!
