It stars DEA Special Agent (and former Green Beret) Garrett Kohl. While serving in Afghanistan, Garrett rescued then ten-year-old Asadi Saleem, who now lives with him and his cantankerous father Butch at their ranch in the High Plains of northwest Texas. As this episode opens, Garrett has adopted Asadi and is on leave from the DEA. To get out from under extreme debt, Garrett has partnered with a previous enemy in an energy corporation, Savage Exploration. His estranged sister Grace returns home with plans for a pipeline connection. Workers are injured in a nearby natural gas plant explosion, and a wartime buddy of Garrett's, Kai Stoddard, is involved with an ecoterrorism group. While Garret tries to find out who is behind all this, Asadi gets into serious trouble trying to help his friend Savannah, and then survive a perilous snowstorm. Complicating matters even further, CIA Agent Kim Manning tracks down Asadi's older brother Faraz (the last of his family), convinces him that Asadi is still alive, and works to get them together in Texas. As always, the story switches plot threads between chapters, all filled with fast paced action that accelerates to an explosive ending that not all survive. Don't miss this series.
