onna Andrews can always be counted on for a congenial cozy mystery read and she does it again with this thirty-fifth in her Meg Langslow series,
Between a Flock and a Hard Place

his episode features construction fraud and a flock of feral turkeys! After the Smetkamps won a home makeover from shady Marvelous Mansions and work was well underway, the street was invaded by very aggressive turkeys, possibly moved there by a prankster.
M
eg soon organized a wrangling crew to contain and capture them, but their work was interrupted by the discovery of the obnoxious Mrs. Smetkamp, knifed in her backyard. This adds a murder investigation to Meg's ever growing to do list, but as always, she's up to the task.
H
ilarity reigns, as ever in this series, and Meg continues to add to the ever lengthening train of colorful characters in her wake.
