Rogue Sequence
opens a new SF series introducing genetically modified soldier Ander Rad. Xyphos Industries created such super-soldiers and then hired them out in conflicts around the world. In Mynmar in 2091, Ander was captured and sold into years in the hell of brutal fighting pits in Bolivia.
D
uring this time, the World Unity Council banned human genetic engineering, making all modified people outlaws. In 2098, Agent Morgan Moreno of the Genetic Compliance Department of the United American Provinces shows up, to make Ander an offer he cannot refuse. She's part of a task force tracking rogue mods and wants Ander to help track down an old teammate, Turin, in return for his freedom.
I
t becomes a race against time to find and stop Turin, even with the help of a dark-net cyberhound and a Russian weapons smuggler. Ander considers leaving Moreno more than once but stays the course through constant explosive action and betrayals - and wins himself an insurance policy that he shares with Moreno.
